i believe ppl who buy hybrid cars are looking for
"green" tax rebates
better fuel consumption
and perhaps trying demonstrate their LOVEEEEEEEE for the environment...........
and this morning, on the way to work, i saw a honda civic hybrid zipping past me at approx 100 kph........... i was on leisure mode today so i kept at 80 kph haha............ in fact i was challenging myself to be extra smoooooothhhhhhh when driving bcos i was reminded of an article i read over the weekend..... the article was about John and Helen Taylor, good driving habits and how to improve fuel consumption.................
in particular, i was struck by what John said in the interview.......... when one adopts good driving habits to operate a "normal" (petrol or diesel) car, it can be more fuel efficient than a hybrid car............ and he is able to prove it as well.....cos HE DID IT...!
not forgetting that hybrid cars are not exactly THAT environmental-friendly.......... think of those expensive batteries and motors and so on............. manufacturers never never tell you the replacement cost for these components cos it will give you a heart attack.....
my point is........ i seldom see owners of hybrid cars driving smoothly............ so the cause of high fuel consumption is bad driving habits ...... rather than the type of propulsion system.......
