at the carnival, mitsubishi ralliart was having a promotion for some packages..... in particular, ralliart alloy strut bar, ralliart radiator cap and performance airfilter for about S$450++ ......

and this week, they are giving away ralliart tuneup parts if one books a new lancer ex...... so is the ralliart strut bar superior to the aftermarket alloy or steel strut bars...???

yeah i think the factory item is definitely superior in looks....... as for performance, my senses may not be as keen to be able to tell the difference.....

if one is able to get it free, good............. if not, u can save some cash by going the aftermarket route....

aha...... dun worry! i didnt buy any watch at all..... inside was a gift from chopard.... they were kind enough to invite a group of ppl to view their latest range of watches and novelties at their new boutique.......

although this is not a genuine chopard-manufactured pen, it is still a very very nice touch.......

while at the boutique, i had the chance to play with the chopard pens on display....... the twist mechanism is oh-my oh-my creamie smoothieeee....... even better than my faber-castell pen..... but at a price of cos......

it's been my dream to have a dedicated listening room for the audio system....

and although i have realised the dream a few years ago, i have always wanted something like this....... big and spacious enough to accomodate the largest of loudspeakers....... and fully treated to enhance the listening experience....

hmmmmm .... i can see a very beautiful watch case...... which is paired with a extremely MESSY-LOOKING dial.....

what a pity.... it could have been a winner...... i think the dial sucks....... and sucks absolutely....

the anti-counterfeiting feature is a godsend but it is plain useless when the dial is so messy..... because no syndicate is interested to make copies of such a ugly watch haha

oakley plank....

in a moment of carelessness last night i dropped my spectacles on the wooden floor.... OUCH..!! and being the usual particular sort, i kept thinking that the frame had become misaligned.....

UURGGHHH i cant wait for today to arrive so that i can get the optician to do it for me..... so after a hard day's work, i sprinted out of the office to drive over to the optician......

and on my way there i was thinking if i should have another pair as a backup...... one option is to get a el cheapo pair for use at home...... or maybe should i buy another pair of oakley.... hmmm but that will cost me another few hundreds of dollars....

anyway the salesguy was very friendly........ and i went through a selection of oakley and tag heuer frames.......

of the many i've tried, the new oakley plank in aluminium suits me best haha....... cast in matt black, the retro-themed frame is very strong and stout to withstand the rigours of everyday wear......

hmmmm in the end, i decided to take a break from spending...........

while browsing around the sonex booth at the CAT carnival... i spotted this ang mo who was wearing a patek 5960 chronograph in rose gold.....

although a little excited to see one in the wild, i resisted the temptation to let him know what a nice watch he was wearing..... cos he might thinking i was up to no good........

would you compliment a stranger on his choice of timepiece...???

octane 92 update

after 3 tankfuls of octane 92 petrol which came to more than 1500 km, i am happy to say that there's been no difference in fuel mileage between 92 and 95....

driving habits were about the same...... traffic conditions very much the same (well the same old crappy peak hour traffic).....

so if your car can use 92, just switch and save a few dollars each time......

i have no idea if this is the cheapest but it is certainly one of the cheapest bluetooth headsets in the market..... only S$29 at the CAT carnival ......... there was another model which was cheaper but it was all SOLD OUT.....

well i have no need for this.... my guy friend wanted one so i picked it up for him.... even though the packaging stated "lady", i am sure guys can use this .... cos i dun see any gender-detector on the headset.....

ahhh then you must try the carpark at Orchard Central, the newest shopping mall right smack in the centre of orchard road.......

first segment:

to reach level 5, you have to go through a continuous spiral carpark ramp (CW direction) where you face on-coming traffic which will be spiralling down in a CCW direction.... dun worry there's not a hump in sight so you can really push .... just make sure there's no slow coach ahead of you.... if not there will only be pure frustration in your face.....

2nd segment: from level 5 and up, the spiral continues ... but your progress will be checked by humps..... and that's not so cool......

on the way down, the fun only begins from level 5 onwards........ which is a challenging spiral separated only with double whitelines............

trust me, the white walls are just waiting to collect paint marks........ sooner or later......

magic.... dent removal

you saw it and now u dont.......

thanks to uncle's magic touch, the dent is gone..... but uncle also said that as the integrity of the paint surface had been compromised, i just gotta live with the mark..... well comparing with the before and after pictures, what more can i say.....

after all the dent is gone..... and TRULY GONE!!..... it was a wonderful job, kudos to uncle's workmanship......

to make sure i was first in the queue, i had to wake up at 0830 hrs ...... anyway uncle did it within an hour so i spent the time having breakfast and also had a stroll around the industrial area.......

and before i left, i saw a mazda 2 with a total of 9 dents WOW.... that will surely take some time to fix.....

the doctor called me up..... and made me go through a treadmill test........ i've never liked to jog on a treadmill.... and today it just confirmed what i've always knew: it's easier to jog on the ground .....

other than that, i gotta watch my diet ... haha.... hmmm, i thought i've been keeping away from oily and fried stuff..... well, just gotta buck up......

since there was time left after the shoft 15-min but still tiring treadmill run, i detoured to the tyre shop to patch the tyre.....

worst fears came through: the nail was pretty LONG...... and there was a loud SHOOSSHHH when the guy pulled it out......

to make the patch more durable, i opted for the inside job.... which cost S$20......

however i was surprised they did not have the inner mushroom-type patch..... their way of doing it was to use a tyre cement........ a thin layer was applied from inside and left to dry........

so will this tyre cement hold up? i hope so.... and i pray it does.....

nail IT..!

try to get into a habit of checking your tyres regularly..... be it car, motorcycle or bicycle..... it will surely save you lotsa headaches in time to come......

and behold...... this evening as i was giving the car a visual check, i spotted a glimmering reflection from the right rear tyre..... DAMN..... !!

just as i feared, there it was...... the head of a nail .......... and lodged in the tyre..!!

should i leave it or should i pull it out...????

well i think i should leave it till the weekend when i have da time to get a tyre patch if the hole springs a leak.....

DAMN....! i hate nails.......

i doubt so.... cos there's one fundamental flaw that the designers need to overcome......

one can refuel a petrol/diesel vehicle in less than 10 mins......

however, there's currently no way to recharge an electric vehicle that quickly (unless one can replace the batteries at regular "petrol" stations).......

which means we cannot have a GT electric car that has grand touring or cross-continental aspirations at the moment.....

that is why some are still going the hybrid route....... and KERS should be a good addition to new hybrid vehicles.......

if only we can find a simple and quick way to split h20 into oxygen and hydrogen..... that means engines can be powered by hydrogen..!!

hey it's no joke when one needs to wear a N95 mask during the course of work.......

since the days of SARS, i have become familiar with the sights of healthcare workers operating with PPE equipment... i.e. mask, goggles, apron and gloves....... and i thought, wow it must be really tough to be wearing all these.....

however it's not the same when one gets to try the full treatment.........

it's hot, stuffy, uncomfortable, stifling, itchy, sweaty and you can imagine any other description that's associated with crap haha...... well, you get the idea.....

even though the newly launched rolex submariner in gold and stainless steel has yet to arrive in singapore ....... it's good to know that the list price is S$14,256.... only slightly higher than the rolex gmt master 2 116713 (S$14,171)....

a likely scenario is the first few pieces might be selling at a small premium or very close to list price...... it's just my gut sense.... cos the AD that i talked to did not wanna commit ...

earlier in the afternoon, i was behind this van at the traffic lights...... and when the lights turned green, he took his own sweet time to move off and was so ridiculously slow.... so slow that it's worse then moving backwards haha........... incensed, i horned at the idiot and switched to the next lane.......

so when the worm managed to crawl up at the next traffic lights, i know he would do something.... sure enough he looked at me and applauded..... HA, so he's trying to be sarcastic..... so i returned the compliments with an action that i should not describe here......

those that have done their time in army know about the Standard Obstacle Course (SOC).... but not everyone enjoys having to go through SOC.......

maybe it's too tough or back then conscripts were doing something against their wishes......

when i watch ninja warrior on tv, every participant wants so much to conquer the course.... so what if SAF recruits get to participate in the ninja warrior singapore-style???

that at the very least should be 100% more entertaining than the boring SOC..... haha

if one needs to maintain a distance of 3-4 car lengths in the fast lane in morning peak hour traffic, i suggest that the person stays off the road..... and just keep to the slower lanes.......
