With the special road tax in place, 95% of the diesel vehicles to be registered as passenger cars in singapore dun make any dollars & cents...
Moreover, this special tax has been reduced from its previously crazy figure of 7 times the tax of a equivalent petrol engine... No sane person would wanna pay that amount!!??
But.. What if, what if the government charges the same tax for both petrol & diesel engines?? Will motorists bite?
I think we should all be given a chance to try those delicious turbo-charged diesel engines... Especially the wallops of torque they give..!!
More importantly, diesel is still cheaper than petrol... So what's wrong with using a cheaper fuel on a largely more frugal technology... Does everybody know that a litre of diesel can go further..?
So give us euro v compliant diesel engines..!!
