colours from TOD'S

if you compare these with the one from BALLY, i kinda still prefer TOD'S.......

maybe it's the BRAND

maybe it's the SHAPE

maybe it's the SOLES

too bad they are not very lasting in the outdoor environment....... by looking at the soles, i'm sure the BALLY will outlast a pair of TOD'S anytime...

for improved control and handling, nothing comes close to a deep-dish steering wheel..... and as i think back, i kinda miss that wonderful period of using the OMP day in and day out.....

the problem with modern cars is that there are so many buttons and functions on the factory-mounted steering wheel that you have to give up many things with a after-market steering wheel.....

audio controls

cruise control

all will be OUT......

can you give up the convenience..????

a tough bar ....

why do most watches come with spring bars...??? are they cheaper to use or are the manufactures reluctant to change.......

spring bars present a real headache when owners wish to remove or change the bracelet/strap... !! especially if one did not use a special tool....... try using a toothpick or thin pen-knife and you will surely curse and swear....and very often one will knick or scratch either the case or bracelet or worse still, BOTH !!.....

even technicians at the service centre are not spared the problem....... of course we can reduce the likelihood by taping the case, bracelet and screwdriver tip with masking tape....... but why should we have to do this in the first place.....

anyway i prefer screws...... and of course the various quick-change system introduced by panerai, JLC, IWC.....

really hope to see these being implemented across the entire range..... and also more manufactures to pioneer their own unique system...

previously when the pam 312 first arrived on our shores, many ppl were asking for it.... and prices hovered a little above list price.....

now there are quite a few sellers willing to let go at below the local list price but how come no one is biting..????

cos the wish to own one is gone..???

to make things palatable for their customers, bell & ross tells you that their straps are hand made.......

always the monaco....

i have always thought of the monaco as one of tag's most beautiful watches...... and even though i am not a big tag fan, i have always harboured a secret liking for the monaco...... and if you can remember this model, the monza too,,,,,,

but other than sharing a similar case shape, the LS has nothing in common with the monaco of old....... instead it is brash, loud and very modern.... which then makes it perfectly suitable for the modern city dweller.....

however the launch pictures alone do not tell the whole story.... it may prove to be a surprise when the real thing comes to the stores......

sunday's update....

allow me to confess..... even though i'd been bugging mr 850-dollar man, i know he does not relent easily......

you cannot force a usually thrifty family-man to turn into a spendthrift overnight right? haha.... moreover, he now has a kid to take care of... so it's only right he saves for a rainy day..... but then in singapore, it rains pretty frequently so that means it's very ok to spend when it rains ...... HAHA .....

to be fair to our friend, he will spend when it's necessary and so it is my duty to let you know that he indeed has played his part as a loyal singaporean to jump-start the economy by shopping during the GSS.....

and here's the list of items he bought on sunday:

2 pillow cases

1 bedsheet set

4 towels

1 leather keyholder/pouch.....

total spending approx $250...... and together with monday's purchases, the total spending has surpassed $300......

yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!! impossible is nothing.............!

shopping is always fun.............

and if the hunt is fruitful then it's worth the effort......

for days i've been looking around for a leather pouch .......... one that could fit a car key/transponder.....

somewhere someone said that he managed to find one........ from goldlion that fits perfectly...... and true to the claim, the fit is almost tailor-made.....

after a 20% discount, it went for S$28.............. a pretty good price i think for a piece this well-made..........

haha and the best thing, it doesnt even look like it's from goldlion.............
