that magic number is 1700 rpm........ cos the Golf gives you a super flat torque curve from that number onwards and ....that means ALMOST NO turbo lag.......

in comparison that 4B11T engine in the evo x makes 280 PS at 6,500rpm and 422Nm of torque at 3,500rpm...... while you get 211 PS at 5300 rpm and 280 Nm at 1700-5200 from the GTi.....

you just have to make sure you are in the right gear all the time if u choose the evo x..... if not the GTi will just run away in an instant.......

at the carnival, mitsubishi ralliart was having a promotion for some packages..... in particular, ralliart alloy strut bar, ralliart radiator cap and performance airfilter for about S$450++ ......

and this week, they are giving away ralliart tuneup parts if one books a new lancer ex...... so is the ralliart strut bar superior to the aftermarket alloy or steel strut bars...???

yeah i think the factory item is definitely superior in looks....... as for performance, my senses may not be as keen to be able to tell the difference.....

if one is able to get it free, good............. if not, u can save some cash by going the aftermarket route....

save more weight.....

in case you feel there is a need to cut more weight even after missing lunch and dinner, you can put this compact and light-weight battery for the car...

if volkswagen can squeeze 280 to 300 hp from its 2-litre engine, that will really be a wake-up call for the japanese......

right now both the evo x and the sti make 300 hp..... and the latest golf gti makes 211 bhp..... between 211 and 300, there is still a significant gap...... 

although the interim golf v50 makes close to 250 hp, the premium is perhaps too much for customers to come queueing for it....

moreover, the golf is still FWD....... and at the very limits of traction, AWD/4WD is still very much a strength.......

but i do understand the DSG is a potent weapon....... and coupled with auto-blip throttle and spanking new adaptive electronic damping, never never under-estimate the golf ......

as a former owner of a alutec alloy strut bar, i am backing it by saying i was extremely satisfied with the look and finish.......

compared with a painted surface, i very much prefer the bare look......... clean and simple....

driving in the rain is always fun......... i like! and a reminder, pls keep left unless overtaking........

auto transmission is nice to have.... when one is lazy to swift gears manually.....

and so are steering wheel paddle shifters..... drivers get to select gears as and when they wish.....

now if a car has paddle shifters mounted on the steering wheel hub instead, then we have to ask what is it all about...???

is the manufacturer telling me the driver cannot up or downshift when turning?????

so ridiculous....... especially if one is looking to buy a 300 hp turbocharged sportcar..............

right now the COE for big cars are at very low levels...... which means the prices for bigger cars are more tempting that usual......

especially now mitsubishi is giving a 1.99% interest rate and also 3 years free scheduled servicing for any car purchased now.....

hhhmmmm 3 years free servicing will kinda take care of any headaches for 60,000 km .... right??

but i would have to take out close to 7k for the downpayment..............

now with the introduction of the dual clutch SST, it is time to buy the evo X........i like the concept of a such a transmission, no clutch lever and yet no power loss......

the DSG in volkswagen cars are quite mature implementation, so it's good news that mituibishi is putting their version in the evo X....



blue colour is nice......as in other bright options for the evo IX, such as yellow and red....
