sigh i really like them very much....

The federal tyres have quite awhile to go.....

But I am not happy about its wet performance .....

for improved control and handling, nothing comes close to a deep-dish steering wheel..... and as i think back, i kinda miss that wonderful period of using the OMP day in and day out.....

the problem with modern cars is that there are so many buttons and functions on the factory-mounted steering wheel that you have to give up many things with a after-market steering wheel.....

audio controls

cruise control

all will be OUT......

can you give up the convenience..????

i didnt remember having any contact with road kerbs ......... and i always keep a good distance from kerbs....

so who did it....???

sigh i am getting sick of this........ please stay away from kerbs.......!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

begone with scratches...

although i was nursing a headache, i didnt waste any time to wanna get my alloy wheel back from the shop...... when i called him up, the shop owner was kinda excited over the phone .... he said the wheel is ready for collection and when i reached the shop, he came over and asked me to see the wheel immediately........ ha i can tell he's pretty proud of his good work..... and so i followed him to the back alley......

considering the damage done to the wheel, it now looks almost as new, ALMOST... cos there were still some minor defects that cant be removed totally...... but i would say it's close to 95% of the original condition...... well i am more than satisfied, what more can i say ... if only you have seen the DAMAGEEEEEEE!!!

i also took the chance to rotate the tyres...... which at that point i saw a fearsome reflection from a metallic piece embedded in one of the tyre............. pls dun tell me that's a NAIL..!!!??????? OOHH NOOOO!!! it really is..... well this time i kinda resigned to the fact that nails are aplenty on the roads...... and so i opted for the simple patch-from-outside method..... SIGHHHHHH.....

from now i just gotta monitor the tyre pressures closely......... i hope the patch staysssssssssss..... and DAMN THE NAILS...!!

when i alighted from the car this afternoon, i saw a very FRESH and DEEP SCRATCH on the LEFT FRONT WHEEL...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH...........!!!!

and i knew WHO DID IT ---------> !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok ok the discovery surely made my afternoon very very miserable.... and being the impatient sort, i just have to visit the tyre shop immediately after work..... i cannot wait till saturday, not at all.....

the uncle who directed me into the shop was very kind ... at first he said i might have to leave the car there till monday ... but oh come on, how can i live without a car till monday???? so he offered a very new lancer GT 18 inch wheel as a replacement for mine during the repair.........which is a one-to-one swap for the alloy wheels........

so i was thinking i gotta use this GT wheel for a couple of days and he would just mount the tyre and put the wheel on the car.... but he didnt.... even though it's for 2 days, he put the wheel on the machine and had the freshly mounted wheel/tyre balanced...... very nice of him to do so without me asking.....

i'll let you know what happens when i get the evo x wheel back......... it's not going to be cheap but i hope it will look as good as new....

why cant the industry come to a standard........??

why are the sizes for tires in millimetres while the sizes for wheels are in inches... as in width and diameter.....????

isnt that confusing...???

so a 215 mm-wide tire to fit on a 7 inch-wide wheel with a diameter of 18 inches............ most ppl would go like HUH??

imagine if you were to go the market and tell the storekeeper............ 1.5 kg of prawns and 3 ounces of crabs and..... how heavy is 1 stone??
