AHA...... tough SEAL....

here are the pictures for the newly launched:

JLC Master Compressor Diving Chronograph GMT Navy SEALS

very impressive-looking and chocked full of features.....

even though this is only a prototype, i kinda like how it feels on the wrist.......... very very light.....

will this sell?

limited to 7969 pieces, this is another LE for the omega speedmaster.......

to each his own.....

i dun support fakes ..... and there is surely no foolproof way to eradicate fakes.....

it's amazing how these guys are doing it........... to the extent of promoting themselves on the internet........... blatant? or brave?

good to know about these watches but no thanks ........ i aint promoting them in any way....

some observations:

the small seconds hand at 6 o'clock works............!
the screw-down crown is operational...... there's even a rubber o-ring on the crown tube.....!
they equipped the watch with a a scratch-resistent sapphire crystal........
the chronograph works!

the give-aways:

to advance the time, the person turned the winding crown in a ccw direction.......... unlike a real 4130 movement in a rolex daytona
the coronet on the winding crown is badly aligned....
the length of the clasp is too short.....
the oysterlock flap is badly-made......
the entire clasp is poorly done................

have fun with the video.....

holllllliiieeeeee a new richard mille......!!!

wowo ........ here's the new richard mille diving watch....... which is a all new design called the RM025.........

i find it incredible when they managed to squeeze a chronograph and tourbillon this the case...... and even make it work......... i cannot imagine the challenge and complexity involved..... WOW!

alas, it's a manual-winding timepiece.......... to make the 300m WR possible, the trademark rm tonneau case was dropped........ no choice bcos of the huge water pressure down low ....

to me, this is a jaw-dropping effort.............!! i have no idea how much will it costs............. but it wont come cheap........

red or yellow.......... hublot

by now, one of the originators of the unoriginal, has again launched another colourful rendition of their current icon of timepieces........

yes this is another edition dedicated to the great senna............

yellow bcos he's brazilian? i guess so....

looks ok though but again, far from original......

can anyone tell me how many limited editions are there for the hublot BB..........???

pardon me, it's just my morning rant............

ferrari california by panerai

the new car from maranello is widely considered a watershed introduction by ferrari....... car lovers worldwide are wowed by direction-injection 4.3 litre engine, automatic folding softtop, the provision of 4 seats and also a new gearbox........ all making the newest ferrari the most versatile thus far.....

to go along with the new car, there's also a new watch............... called the california too, haha

i think the watch is only OK......... it's not particularly handsome or musculine and not even eye-catching........

the likely thing to happen is: owners of the california might end up buying other watches...........

a tough case......

this is made for the rough guys (and gals too) out there. if u want a timepiece that is TOUGH, DARK and STYLISH, look no further......

zirconium oxide, commonly known as ceramic, is as TOUGH as you can get....... much harder than gold, platinum and steel, it is made to lasttttttttttttttttt......

and if you are often pissed by how easy your steel watch(es) get all scratched up, you will love the IWC topgun chronograph!

enlarged to 44 mm, it is a very handsome watch with a chronograph function..........what's more there are day and date indicators for the forgetful, which is so useful when u need to tear out the flaps from the parking coupons..........

just in case u overshot the timing, you can also rely on the chronograph to record the elapsed seconds and minutes.....

unfortunately the buckle is not made of ceramic............... what a pity

before the onset of the financial tsunami, this piece was quite elusive.......... lately i've seen them appearing in dealers' shelves ....... while the list price is at S$11,700, visiotime is offering a new piece at below list price.....

PS: i am not related to visiotime in any way.............

rolex movements......

for those people who keep insisting that rolex movements are plain and poorly decorated, pls open up your eyes and take a good look............ these ought to make them eat their words............

one can now appreciate the quality of a rolex movement and also its beauty......... do compare with the types of decoration in my earlier post

a bit too late??

isnt it a little too late to jump onto the bandwagon of black and black watches.................. ?

and a little weirdo to have the crown not in black!!! did they forget all about it????? if that's intentional, they have shot themselves in the foot........ OUCH!!

other than being a trend follower, it's a pretty nice chronograph watch.................. especially if u ride a MV Agusta motorcycle.......... :)

devilssssssssssss

when i first heard that hublot was tying up with manchester united to produce a limited run of big bang watches, my first reaction was GOSH......

are hublot and AP trying to outdo each other with the number of limited edition watches they can come up with.....????

and the iterations are becoming less and less original.......... it's as simple as plastering a logo on the dial........

i wonder why didnt they put alex ferguson's face on the dial...... oh sorry it should be SIR alex ferguson......... but then how could someone bestowed with a knighthood show so much disrespect to referees and the laws of the game..............

having his face on the dial haha, that would really make a statement ....

seriously i have lost count of the number of LE for hublot........ be it for yacht clubs, football clubs, drivers and so on.....

nice package wyler...

i dun really care about the watch ..... but the box and packaging are excellent...!!

very comprehensive and also so thoughtful of them to include a matching extra strap and a screwdriver..... i am pretty sure the customer is "paying" for all these but it's a nice touch anyway

the joy and satisfaction might last a little while.... and in no time the box will be gathering dust in a closet...... that's how most boxes end up

the dark knight

100 limited pieces and only for USA........... gosh..... this is really not bad looking at all....

there are many black watches and this counts as among the nicest.........

48 mm is huge but the admiral's cup watches wear comfortably even for small wrists as the rubber straps taper inwards at an angle.......... short straps can be ordered easily.....

however for a reason only corum knows, changing the strap would somehow scratch the lugs...... even for the official service centre technicians who perform the job day in and day out......

kudos to corum, this one is nicely done........ full name is corum admiral's cup challenge 48 black flag.............

limited unlimited

hot on the heels of the singapore grand prix LE of 25o pcs, AP will be launching the survivor royal oak offshore chronograph watch....

very macho very musculine very tough and if u think the T3 model was massive, wait till u see this one.....

i can see they are truly the leaders of limited editions....... which is why i coin the term limited unlimited.......

cos the sky's the limit, when it comes to limited editions....... :)

too too too bucherer

too busy is the dial and one is resigned to just ignore it....... in case confusion sets in

i guess the designer had too many things on his plate and was struggling to fit all of it onto the dial...... perhaps that was why 2 years were needed for this to be born.....

so there is a big date display, a flyback chronograph function, a power reserve indicator, an annual calender and retrograde hours indicator..........

WOW.... which is more than a mouthful right? i need a drink after reading everything out haha.....

i have no idea how popular carl f bucherer is in switzerland but over here in singapore, i have never heard of anyone who owns one....... it's a neglected brand..... i should check with the AD how it's selling ... :)

now that they have a new manufacture movement, i suggest they work harder on the designs.....

Saturday, 11 October 2008

aha...... another one

oh no..... they have done it again

after last year's release of a breitling watch in black steel, they have decided to do it again

maybe the response was too good and they cant resist the temptation to tap on the demand .... so it's 3000 LE pieces for this time..... the breitling super avenger chronograph....

the first run sold at list prices and even fetched a small premium...... haha another 3000 more will only dampen the resale price......

booooooooooooo......... it's just no longer "limited" after all........ cos they will make more and more of it.... and sooner or later.....

azzurri???

here's another association between football and watches....... this time with the italian
national football team..............

the colour is nice.... but i feel nothing for the watch.......

concord c1

saw this new chronograph at cortina watch paragon.......

pictures of the c1 have been splashed on many magazines and websites for some time...... the pictures of the watch were good and looked much better that way......

somehow i am a little disappointed with what i saw.....

the rotating disc to display the seconds is a nice touch..... so is the lug-less design..... and especially the crown, very cool..........

i dun quite fancy the bezel though..... in all, the watch is less than the sum of its parts........... that's my opinion....

but this is the watch concord is banking on .......

russian....

someone i know bought this very recently...........a russian denissov chronograph barracuda......

45 mm in diameter, this watch is produced in a limited run of 500 pcs...... iirc, there is a barracuda mechanical watch and there is a barracuda mechanical chronograph......

a pity that i omitted to take a pic of the caseback, for its design is quite unique and interesting.....

u can see the caseback at http://www.smirs.com/product_info.php?products_id=563

not a surprise that the watch comes with a sapphire crystal for denissov is one of the better made russian watches...... they also command a higher price than vostok europe, poljot etc.....

check this out at red army watches if you are interested.......

red or yellow.....

two ferrari by panerai chronographs in bright-coloured dials........

well i may be a fan of the prancing horse but i dun think these watches are an exact extension of the spirit of ferrari....

judged on their own, they are appealing in design and function........large 44 mm watch cases, simple and legible dials, large and easy to use pushers and crowns........just that they dun have the beauty of the cars from maranello

i like the luminous dots on the crown.......and panerai have taken the extra effort to ensure that the crown is centred with a locking mechanism i.e. the prancing horse on the crown will always face up.....

the brushed surfaces are also easier to maintain ........not cheap but i am sure many can afford
