worth the salt..... and dollars.... tudor chronograph

ok.... the list price is S$3578 and after discounting to S$2820, this must be a great steel, oops steal i mean, for an automatic chronograph watch made in swizterland.......

for less than 3 thousand dollars, you get ALMOST rolex quality (well, tudor is owned by rolex after all) and i have to admit, the new range of tudor watches are looking pretty good....

if you are not that AVANT GARDE type of consumers, then maybe tudor will appeal to your tastes and senses.....

more tudor hydro.....

by far the best pictures of the new tudor hydro is from watchquote.com................ now we can really appreciate this new introduction of a monster diving watch...... especially feaatures like the massive crown protector, cool new bezel, over-sized hour markers, combo bracelet of ceramic and steel....

one comment on the HEV (helium escape valve) though....

for so many years, the HEV on the sea-dweller was flush with the watch case..... is there any good reason for this version on the tudor?

one may be very tempted to depress it................. for it looks like HOT eject button haha

lost?

from a closer pic i am thinking......

are the hands a little too thick.... and

are the hour markers a little too big....?????

cool is the seconds hand though...... kinda unique i find it...

a nice touch is the ceramic inserts for the bracelet........

bad ass and more............

after rolex introduced the sea-dweller deepsea and pulled the plug on the sea-dweller, the gap between the 300m-rated submariner and 3900m deepsea is way way too wide....

but instead of a new model to bridge that gap, they passed the buck to tudor in the form of the hydro...... rated down to 1200 m......... WOOHOO!!!

and this is a seriously good-looking diving timepiece....... ! i think it's going to be reasonably affordable for all the great features it come with......

cheers to tudor...

an ICON from tudor....

a multi-function chronograph? yes, here you have one..... the TUDOR ICONAUT chronograph......

tudor is not new of cos.... but being the "poor" and "lesser" cousin of rolex has been its bane......

likes:

a big bezel (although the numerals on the bezel are kinda big for my liking).......
a hugging and stout crown protector
big chrono pushers
a 24 hr hand
a date....

dislikes:

iconaut (what kinda name is that???)
what's the red patch for...???
