the in-house factor....

someone posted a question in a watch forum: comparing the rolex daytona against the vacheron constantin overseas chronograph..... and wanted to know which is the better watch...

well.... for me, i'll pick the one with the in-house movement which is, the rolex daytona..... and what's more the daytona is cheaper ... and way better looking.....

what an irony, the watch with the in-house movement costs less..!!??

hmmmmm .... i can see a very beautiful watch case...... which is paired with a extremely MESSY-LOOKING dial.....

what a pity.... it could have been a winner...... i think the dial sucks....... and sucks absolutely....

the anti-counterfeiting feature is a godsend but it is plain useless when the dial is so messy..... because no syndicate is interested to make copies of such a ugly watch haha

from all the glowing reports, i reckon vacheron constantin must be very proud of their latest creations.........

however, judged as a design, i think this falls flat on its face........... it's plain, boring and very unexciting........

some said this is a watershed timepiece ....... cos there are innovative anti-counterfeiting features built-in....... perhaps it is.....

but no matter what, there's not an element of attractiveness........... it's a dud....

i was rendered speechless for a moment after i saw it..... i mean the picture cos i have no idea how the real watch looks like nor am i interested to find out....

to each his own but i think quite a few people will like it very much but the bracelet model is kinda too much...... the watch looks better on a strap...

even the moon becomes a jewelled satellite haha......

maybe a little modesty is good........... when too much is obviously too much.....

for your info, the movement has to be manually wound so any lucky owner will have so much fun winding the diamond-tipped crown...... one can wind the watch and fondle the diamonds at the same time...... :)

i have always like the VC overseas range of watches........... the dual time and chronograph are beautiful watches....

now VC has launched a special edition of the overseas chronograph.... us edition.......... limited to 100 pieces....

to me, this is a step backward.......... placed next to the regular overseas chronograph, no way i would choose this us edition.....

VC....the oldest manufacture.......do have an interesting line of sport watches, the overseas...

like this overseas dual time..........see how the bracelet design is perfectly matched with the VC sign........that theme is carried over to the bezel as well, i especially like the way the first joint is mated with the bezel.......very much a macho and musculine watch



tough choice to choose between white and black.....

other than the dual time, they have a regular overseas as well as the chronograph.........




in fact the overseas chronograph is cool..............notwithstanding the list price (approx USD 15000).......however they are typically sold at a reasonable discount.......
