Metal prices

In recent years, prices of precious metals have gone skyhigh.... And
prices for jewellery have followed suit...

For entry level pieces in sterling silver, the price of admission has
been maintained at a sane level: most people can easily afford tiffany
& co if they are eyeing siler only...

Now the story changes tack when titanium is added to the mix......
These pieces are MUCH more expensive than what I expect to pay.....

Is titanium that expensive? Or rather is it that difficult to work with?

I think the actual answer lies somewhere in between ...
