unfair comparison

towards the end of its useful life, the federal 595 was ragged and exciting while the dunlop at 200 km is proving to be assuring .....

other than a terrible screech it gave when it was very new, everything is smooth and uneventful so far .....

with more miles on the tyres, i'm sure the time will come for me to push a little harder....

i think i'm going to like the dunlop sport maxx TT ....

This afternoon as I was lining behind a EK civic and Suzuki SS to turn into a highway, everything all seemed peaceful and quiet..

Somehow i had the impression that these 2 car owners are friends ....

And judging from the way they were driving they could be in a hurry to go somewhere ....

So when the EK accelerated away I half expect the SS to do the same....

But he was soooooo damn take his time that I almost rammed into his ass....

Anyway he moved left to allow me to pass and of cos I just carried on as usual....

After I passed I saw him stepping up and came right up behind me.... He continued his antics and followed me very very closely till I can't see his head lamps...

Although I was kinda pissed, I can't be bothered to react and continued my journey in lane 2.....

By the time we entered the tunnel he decided not to follow me anymore....

Seriously who cares...

I'm back with Dunlop ..!!

Right now I'm trying very hard not to push the tyres before they have settled in...

Earlier I had coaxed into making a horrible screech when I didn't slow down as much as I should at a left turn ...

Patience ...!!!

What I can say is the Sport Maxx TT is a quieter than the Federal 595 when it was new....

Grip? Let's wait till the tyre has been given some miles ... Ok?

This afternoon I noted that the threads are wearing off on the right front tyre....

And tonight I can feel the jitters... The ride was rougher and there were some skipping on the bends ...

So it's time to change...

slow and stop

i used to dislike braking cos the feeling was never assuring......

most brake systems are designed for longevity and general use and not for hard driving and emergencies.....

if one needs better brakes, he can

        a.        replace brake pads ($100++)

        b.        replace rubber brake hoses with braided stainless steel hoses ($200++)

        c.        change brake fluid / bleed brake system ($40+)

        d.        replace rotors ($200+)

        e.        upsize rotors ($250++)

        f.        upgrade brake master pump ($?)

        g.        upgrade to big brake kit ($2000++)

at the very least, car owners should do a and b while c should be done once a year...

nonetheless, installing a big brake kit is worth the big dollars if you demand complete confidence from your braking systems......

nowadays i enjoy braking as much as i love accelerating and turning...... but right now i can only hope the BBK is durable and lasting....

not all BBK are created the same.....
 

running day

today is my scheduled running day...... and i've better make sure i stick to it...

i realised sometimes that i have an urge to run to non-scheduled days but when it comes to the actual day, i may try to ease off and take a break.......

if i could stay trim and fit without breaking a sweat, i would do it...

but then nothing is free in this world...

without effort there can be no results....

Nuforce the music maker

I have a new nickname for the DAC 9, the music maker, which was inspired from K19 the widow maker....

Somehow this new black box is giving my old CD a 2nd wind & breathing new life into these songs recorded so many years ago....

All the noise, distortion and grittiness associated with early digital recordings have been cast aside ....

Only music is left.....

affordable luxury...

for a range-topper, its price is more then reasonable so that almost everyone can get to enjoy it.....

since it's as affordable or even slightly cheaper than top rated korean tyres, i'd get the MIJ dunlop sport maxx TT.....

how can a person seek continuous improvement over his current standards?

what if he is currently performing at his personal best?

can he outdo himself with more practice and hardwork?

or will he forever be stuck at one point?

there is usually a self-imposed limit that one sets for himself and usually one's competency and confidence will determine his own performance ceiling.....

to achieve a breakthrough, one could need more time and practice.....

another way for that to happen is to make a mistake, get yourself into all sorts of trouble and then realise that hey, there is still someway to go before the limit......

and that's how some people go faster and faster...... brake later and later ......

From the time I bought my first car until now, I have used these tyres (excluding original fitment) and now rate them on a simple scale..

Dunlop DZ101 - good dry & wet
Toyo T1R - very good dry & good wet
Hankook K104 - very good dry & good wet
Federal 595 - good dry & ok wet

steps for new CDs

i am sure every audiophile has his favourite treatment for new music collection....

some are relatively affordable while others can be as expensive as your wife's SK II treatment essence.....

and here is what i do to new CDs....

a. apply nanotech cleaning liquid and polish

b. apply nanotech treatment liquid and polish

c. demagnetise

if i have a little more time and cash maybe i can try antistatic treatment..... e.g. antistatic gun, SK CD....

but at the moment, enough is enough....

i read with disbelief how some of the big shots in malaysia are still denying this and that when facebook, youtube, twitter etc have called their bluff time and time again.....

there is now no place to hide, unless one can shut down the internet and mobile network and kill every one who had a camera out in the streets of KL....

the more they deny, the faster their credibility falls..... and now that's into negative equity territory.....

as culpable as these people are the state-controlled media..... especially the papers owned by big political parties.....

A grande-sized cafe latte from starbucks is 6 bucks while a regular one from TCBTL costs $6.10....

9 out of 10 times I prefer that taste of the latte from TCBTL....

Plus the regular is larger in size than the grande....

Cover up 2

Before putting it on I used lemon pledge to clean all the plastic covers ..... And then I realise the surface became too slippery for the adhesive to work...

Anyway no problem blutack works as well....

So is there any difference?

I think so.... Cos the car accelerates better from 2000 rpm onwards...

To go faster one simply has to push and push....

Without the pressure and motivation to improve there's no way one can move forward ....

Most importantly when one raises the entry speed, the down shift and braking points have to change accordingly ...

All these rounding seasons will bear fruit in time to come...

in these days of modern automatic transmissions, why do the maufacuters still give us a gear stick and knob....

let's not waste metal, plastic and leather to make an unnecessary item....

just put the shift tabs on steering wheels or if not, a few buttons or a turning knob will do....

happened to know that there are rules specifying how many brake lights a motor vehicle is allowed to have......

so other than a motorcycle, other motor vehicles can have either two (one by each side), three (additional one in the middle) or four brake lights (2 pairs on each side) ....

More suction

My mind was messed up when the air con drainage ended up choked time and time again....

Back then I had to use the old wet & dry vacuum cleaner to suck out excess water from the drain pipe... But very often the problem came back in no time ...

That is until I dumped that old dinosaur and changed to a spanking new beast which proved to be awesomely powerful...

Once it's done its job, the pipe stays clog free for many many days...

Well done..!!!!

And now my mind can be freed up for other things ....
