there goes the rest...

i had to sacrifice my lunch rest bcos someone wanted to find out what happened.....

and after work i went jogging....... there must be something wrong with me as i felt extremely lethargic and tired....

which is why i ended up sleeping for a good few hours after dinner ... haha

after lunch i walked over to roxy square wanting to check out preowned audio bits but the shop was closed.....

i had to rush out of the house this afternoon cos when hunger hits me, i just to have to find food at double-quick time...!! haha couldnt resist when the feeling came.....

but of cos the next question is what to have for lunch....... hmmm and to make things difficult for myself, i'd decided not to have anything that's near my place cos i am kinda sick of eating at the very few food stores in the neighbourhood.....

sooooo i gotta summon some ounces of brain juice to think through the possibilites.... in the end i was back at bedok south for the fishball mee done in traditional teochew style........ YUMMY...!!

since i was in the area, i also dropped by ST powered to check out the tein super street coilover suspension........ the price? about S$1852 with installation, alignment and GST.....

sounds good huh.....

neighbourhood pasta..

the pasta shop at the neighbourhood coffeeshop has been opened for quite some time ........ maybe for a few months already? hhmmm i cant remember exactly when they started..... but that's beside the point....

while the fried hokkien mee and chicken/roast pork rice are my usual staples, i didnt have the courage to try the pasta until today..... on the many occasions there, i've been quietly observing the food they served..... it looked very good, was smelling good and the customers looked happy eating there......... however, i didnt have the faith that a pasta shop operated by a chinaman could be any good.....

oh boy i am so wrong...... this chinaman is an authentic pasta chef..!!!! it could have been an ang mo in the kitchen..... and i cant tell the difference.....!

so give him a chance and i was surprised, impressed and hooked........ ok i tell myself i gonna try the vongole next time.....

it may not have been cheap but it's good........ and the serving was generous.....

CSS knows me as someone who's picky about food...... and he's been curious about the pasta store as well...... it was only after i told him my experience this afternoon that he said he saw somebody else who looked like he enjoyed the pasta there when we were having coffee......

yeahhhhh yummy good pasta i like.....

an old favourite....

ever since the old favourite store re-opened, i have yet to try the fried hokkien prawn mee aka sotong mee, a term my friend prefers to use haha..... SOTONG SOTONG SOTONG MEEEEEEEEEEEE

for a reason that eludes me, the chef was gone............. gone into retirement? anyway this new chef is pretty ok......... i couldnt have tell much of a difference between the old and the new...

a good effort nonetheless......!

tiger prawn

the buzzword today is tiger prawns.....

for all you know, the market price for tiger prawns is dearer than frozen lobster at newton hawker centre....

if i remember correctly,

tiger prawn = $8 /100 gm....

lobster = $6 or $7 / 100 gm.....

the americans who visited newton might have gotten a rude shock but then, they placed an order for 8 tiger prawns right???

they knew the price cos it's displayed prominently........ so what's the problem....???

when i visit newton, i make sure the hawker weigh the seafood and inform me of the total weight.......... fair for everybody.....

sunday's brunch

on sunday morning i made a trip to my usual optician.... thinking that i could get my specs adjusted and perhaps to change the nose pads as well..... alas it was closed....

and i settled for the next best thing............. mee soto for brunch...... ever since primary school, i'd always like mee soto..... especially the spicy soup........... the HOTTER the merrier....

this version i tried, however, is a little tame......

maybe i should look for mee soto at other stalls....... do u happen to know where to go for GOOD mee soto???

my lunch was interrupted.... fortunately i was left with the fruit..........

it's ok... i can accept that as part of the job to respond when there's a need ....

anyway having a full tummy is always a good excuse to be sleepy.....

if only there's a sofa bed here.....

lunch for saturday was laksa bee hoon yong tau hoo................ i think that's ok since it was quite some time since i last visited the food stall.........

and guess what, last week i had steamboat for dinner......... so i dun quite understand why did i end up with steamboat for dinner yesterday....... laksa steamboat to be exact.........

huh? laksa gravy for both lunch and dinner...................? doesnt happen very often.......... dun think i gonna have laksa in the days and weeks to come...... the saving grace is both the servings of gravy are excellent.....

i've been visiting the nearby food centres for the past few days......... and now i am lost: what to have for lunch????

early afternoon today i was cracking my head over what's for lunch......... someone suggested macdonald's but i was yearning for hawker food........

well dun fret...... cos when i am lost, my choice is yong tau hoo haha.......... i wrote about this store quite some time ago but good things should also be shared.....

makes good dollars and sense when it's only 15 cents per piece and $1.50 per bowl (includes 7 pcs and noodles)



find your way to bedok south market if you like good and cheap yong tau hoo........ the laksa gravy is alsooo most delicious......



and you can also enjoy free parking on sunday haha
