A thicker cord for the RR-77

When I first plugged in the Acoustic Revive RR-77 I became a happier audiophile.....

This outwardly simple and lightweight device improved the spatiality and stereo imaging by quite a good margin. Most importantly, it made the room “BIGGER” and allowed me to play louder....

All these gains were pretty apparent even though I was using the stock power supply: a generic made in china wall wart unit.....

I should be contented but I was restless ....

So after hearing about what a good power supply can do for the RR-77, I decided to plonk down $$$ for a Kingrex PSU 2 and all that was said was true ..!! Cos the effects of the RR-77 was magnified and given a big BOOST......!! It was not subtle, not at all....

But even this setup is not ideal as I was using the supplied power cord, nothing fanciful ....

I strongly believe that a high quality PC will surely improve things ....

Since my isolation transformer power filter is lying around unused I decided that it could be the upgrade I needed.... This trusty partner allows me to use US plugs to feed the PSU2 and from my collection of power cords, I picked the DH Labs ...

Now I have to believe my ears ......!! I’d just realised that using a good power cord for the PSU2 to feed the RR-77 can be an ear-opening experience too...

You have to try it....

I think even a thick belden cord can do much better than any stock cord.....

In case I get tempted, I should refrain from trying a modded Kingrex PSU2......

That could be really be a killer, at a cost ...

scrub time....

Today is Thursday ....

 

And the grand prix weekend starts tomorrow..!!!

 

I can’t wait for it to roll even though my favourite team scuderia ferrari is way off the mark this season....

 

That is one reason keeping me from spending good money on a ticket with seat....

 

I’d rather save some dollars and stand.....

 

In the 1^st year I stood beside Stamford Grandstand......

 

2^nd year I was at the Singapore Flyer....  Standing of cos...

 

Last year I was on the esplanade bridge.... Still standing....

 

Where will I be this year?

 

Well I have yet to decide......

I didn’t get to nap after lunch yesterday and I didn’t get to nap after work....

 

So towards midnight I was really tired and had to go to bed a little earlier than usual.......

 

Despite the longer rest, I didn’t manage to get myself off the bed until it was 0729 hrs......

 

It was SO TOUGH....!

 

An earlier rest somehow did not translate to one that is fruitful ....

 

Maybe I should sleep less???

forced power

This morning i was in a forced sandwich while on the highway...

 

At the front is an evo X and behind me a roc TSI...

 

And when the road opens up, the exo X took off.....

 

Even though I downshifted to 3^rd gear the evo continued to pull away .....

 

The roc was stuck behind the heavy traffic but from what I could see in the mirrors, he’s waiting for a chance...

 

True enough, when he saw a gap he overtook a slower vehicle from the left and then jumped ahead of me on lane 1 when the road condition was clear.....

 

I tried to close the gap but there’s nothing I can do....

 

Of cos there’s nothing to be ashamed of bcos mine is just a NA 4B11 engine.....

 

The power of forced induction is what that blew me off....

too many crabs

On Friday I had black pepper crabs for dinner....

 

On Saturday I had clams with pasta for dinner....

 

On Sunday I had chilli and black pepper crabs for lunch....

 

Surely that’s overdose on seafood and cholesterol....!!!

 

So what else can I do..??? I just have to sweat everything off by running.....

 

Even though I know 5 km is not enough, that’s the furthest I can go at the moment......

 

If I can up the number of times I run every week, I’m sure I can keep everything in check.....

 

Now I have to keep going....

 

 

 

Downer

It wasn’t such a great Sunday evening after all.....

 

All that should have been did not go accordingly to my wishes but then life goes on.....

 

There’s nothing to be ashamed about if one goes down fighting.....

 

In the end I still managed to wash the car and also completed a 5 km run....

 

Unfortunately it rained in the wee hours of the morning and the car was wet ...

 

Damn....

 

Why can’t I get to enjoy a clean car for a day at least????
