245 hp from a force-fed 2.0 engine may not raise any eyebrows in a performance hatch these days but in a F10 5 series, you’d got to give this car a healthy respect.....

 

While the 520 at 184 hp is a close match for the new Audi A6, the 528 is the one to watch..... 6.3 seconds from a standstill to 100 kph...  !!!

 

Wow, even a Golf GTi needs to wake up a bit....

So what is the formula they are banking on..???

 

A new engine? NA or force-fed..??? If it’s a NA engine, I think they can forget about it.....

Usher and Channel Islands Audio

Maybe this is the first pairing of these 2 brands....

So far my searches on the internet did not yield any results so perhaps it's safe to say so....

So if someone is curious if the CIA switching amplifiers can match well with Usher speakers, I can tell you no worries....

They work very well together.... And that's not just my opinion......

Others have heard it and thinks the CIA and Usher sound great .....

92 dB so far...

Rest & go...

So sleepy so tired....

 

And I had woken up later than usual... 0645 hrs and I was still on the bed..! Fortunately the traffic was light on a Christmas morning and I made it with time to spare....

 

Right now I need a good rest and when I get back home in a while, I just wish to lie down ....

 

But before that I have to fire up the speakers to let it run for a couple of hours at least.......

 

At this stage, it’s important to get the run in over as soon as possible....

 

We’d half expected the Dancers to sound constricted and etched for the first week but to our surprise, it was good from the word GO..!

 

Even the woofers were up to speed almost immediately...

 

By the end of the week, they should be singing....

 

I can’t wait for that to happen...

Usher Dancer 8571 DMD

Had to wake up early in the morning on the eve of Christmas to receive this pair of super heavy loudspeakers... But it was all worth it... After about 12 hours of running time, I shut everything down for the night.... Ahh... It's time to take a well deserved rest.....

Getting pairs and pairs of TOD’s loafers in all the colours and materials, be it suede, calf and crocs skins.... ???

 

But in reality, such dreams hardly come true.....

 

Well no problem, I can carry on dreaming.....

A finishing touch...

The 2 metrofuser panels that I'd mounted on the front wall behind the loudspeakers yesterday seemed to make a difference that I cant describe....

Maybe deeper in perspective ...

Maybe deeper in bass response.....

Maybe better separation....

I think things are now improved but I still wanna identify the areas of improvement ...

Let's spray

When a baby cockroach appeared on my table a few days ago, I didn’t manage to get it .........

 

It was too fast and disappeared quickly.....

 

But when it came out again, I took the chance and using a can of spray in each of my hands and LET GO...!

 

It took a few good sprays but in the end, the chemicals won and the baby was knocked out....

 

Good riddance..!

 

Never never never run around on my table...!

Sure took a long time but I guess it's not easy when I was mostly ranting and sharing the nitty gritty about me...

Big slam

It’s not everyday one gets to listen to a pair of speakers costing more than $100,000.....

 

And seriously there’s no replacement for size when bass is concerned....

 

Big woofers mean big business .... And in turn the loudness, punch and depth will be amazingly realistic....

 

Of course whatever come before the speakers have to be up to the mark as well....

 

The CD transport, DAC, preamplifier, power amplifiers, cables, AC power management all come into play....

 

In short we are close to almost a quarter of a million dollars..

 

So what does that give you..???
