a few of the grey dealers are selling "brand new" pam 312k for list price........ but why would anyone wanna transact at that price when the authorised dealers are also selling at list price..???

if one cannot wait, might as well get one from other local dealers that often post in the internet for about S$9000.....

in recent days and weeks, the number of pam 312 watches put up for sale is beginning to dilute the strong asking prices that were prevalent only about a month ago......

of cos the very first few pieces commanded a small premium at about S$10,500...... then it was closer to S$10,000......

these days? well, pieces from overseas are available at lower than the singapore list price......

isnt that cool..??? YEAH!! great for the buyer....... and i am sure the production volume will catch up with the demand in time to come...

by then even ADs will have to sell at a small discount.....

when is too much really too much..??

with the opening of new shopping malls come the following of new watch retail stores and boutiques.....

and after soaking in the euphoria of the "newness" of these well-lit but otherwise mostly soul-less places, have we observed the over-supply of watch retail outlets???...... is there a point of saturation? or can the locals and tourists support even more...??? i have no answers to that....

and what happens to the "older" malls.... and their watch retail outlets........??? fold or continue ...??

for example, on a usual retail weekend the omega boutique at raffles city shopping centre (which is operated by sincere) is hardly the busiest place ...... so will the omega boutique at ion orchard fare any better when the "newness" is gone..???

or have you seen the number of visitors and customers at the blancpain and breguet boutiques at raffles hotel arcade..???? i wouldnt describe the situation as miserable but if you are there, just take a look for yourself......

in the long run, i'll be very interested to see how spanking new mono-brand boutiques at ion orchard will do......

ode: rolex explorer 2

the explorer 2 may not be the most popular of rolex watches but it is one of my firm favourites......

those that know me will understand my weakness for white dials............ i'd picked this as my very first in year 2002 and it has served me faithfully for the past 8 years........

i am very sure it will have many more good years.............. and since most rolex watches have been upgraded in recent years, the current explorer 2 may not be around for that much longer.........

as to when, only rolex knows.......

meanwhile, u can still buy one of these....... at all official rolex retailers.........

rolex series 2: where to buy rolex watches in singapore

very often, ppl ask the above question when they wanna buy a rolex watch.......or maybe they wanna know where is the store with the best discounts........who is selling at a cheaper price...and so on....

i would usually tell them.......there is no answer to that ....cos the same salesperson would quote a different price for his regular customers..... another price for tourists, another price for walk-in customers, another price for rich indonesians.... etc.....

so even if i tell you that i can get a model at one price...... there is no guarantee that you will be offered the same price if you approach the same salesperson.... it could be more or perhaps less.... who knows haha

hee...... so where do i usually recommend ppl to go if they wanna buy a watch..??? here's my favourite stores...in random order....

i dun mean to say that rest are no good ......just that i have established the rapport and relationship with the sales people there.....
