The motor-heads all love the arrival of any new sports car .....

 

And for Toyota to answer their call is surely a big surprise..... For when is the last time Toyota produced a sports car..???

 

The specs are no doubt encouraging..... !!

 

But in these present days of sky-high and expensive COE, I find it tough to choose the 86 over other hot hatches, especially the European competition like Megane RS, Golf GTi etc...

 

Without the help of turbo power, the peak torque arrives at only 6400 rpm..... In comparison, a 1.6 Mercedes force-fed engine offers 250 Nm from 1250 rpm onwards (till 4000 rpm)..!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

For an aspiring drifter though, the winning features must be the RWD and low kerb weight....

 

As for me, I’ll still pick the RS over the 86.....
