eyes shut

oh oh.... i am having a big problem keeping my eyes open at work this morning...........

really really struggling and i am missing my bed so much so much at the moment........ why is sleep during weekdays never enough?

so should i go jogging after work? or should i go back and catch a nap?

if i go home straight away i am quite sure i will end up sleeping ....... or maybe i need to force myself to jog right after work...........

yeah cos no exercise means that i cant start losing weight..........

seems like almost everyone is going german i.e. buying volkswagen cars...... and this was confirmed by a newspaper report: 2421 in 2009 to be exact..... i guess this figure excludes the number of cars sold by parallel importers so the total number of jetta, golf, passat and polo cars sold could be significant......

for 2010, they are aiming for an even bigger increase in market share..... and i believe they could it with cars like the polo, polo GTI, 4wd golf R and scirocco R: especially tasty for power hungry folks......

with a quick tweak to the ECU, one can easily surpass 300 hp and yet has no need to sacrifice comfort and handling as the cars are equipped with adaptive damping suspension systems.....

ahhhh i really hope that my financial situation improve enough to afford either the golf R or scirocco R.........

what's the charge...?

talking about service charge at restaurants.....

why are they entitled to impose this fee....???

then how about doctors, bus drivers, nurses, cashiers, pump attendents, receptionists etc etc......????

since they are operating in the service industry, should there be a service charge..???

do you mean some services are worth more??

i dun think so.... cos nurses that clean up for patients and doctors who treat patients collect no service charge....... 

Stopping on time!

The brake feel is much better after the service... So now I need to re-adjust the braking points...

Generally the car feels better except for the throttle... Err I think it's abit less responsive than before so I couldn't push as much... It's ok I am sure I can work things out

Squeezing more juices

The current TSI twin-charged engines are pumping out 160 hp, which is more than a fistful...

But for the new polo gti, the engine is giving out a magical 180 hp!! Absolutely amazing!

I wonder if the car will cost over S$90,000??

Refresh

Wanted to wake up early to send the car for its 20k km service... Ha in fact I overslept a little as I was too tired but I managed to leave home in a flash...

At the reception counter the lady told me it will take 3 hours... I'd expected this waiting game so I was prepared to while away the time by reading papers & even took a short nap on the couch haha... Nothing beats having a nap when one is feeling sleepy..

Even though this is a free service, I opted for additional treatments to remove carbon deposits & to clean the aircon... Not sure if they are absolutely necessary but no harm done except that I have to pay for these...

Sigh when is my additional horsepower ready?

everyday there are news about toyota, albeit more bad news than good news...... so what is going to happen now?.... recalls, recalls and more recalls???

i just wonder why is almost everyone ignoring the fact that the faulty accelerator pedals were made in USA........ conveniently they blame the car manufacture and omit the important facts......

of cos the utmost responsbility lies with toyota; no question about that....

another development: toyota is looking into the possibility of having a brake-over-ride system to cut engine power when both the accelerator and brake pedals are depressed at the same time.......... HEY!! that's not going to work cos some drivers need to brake and rev the engine at the same time to match the road-going speed and engine speed..... and the proper way to do that is to use the left foot for braking (and right foot to accelerator at the same time)

having this "new" system will be such a killjoy............ drivers can no longer use left foot braking!!!

clipper hermes....

all along i find hermes watches ugly ....but nothing ever stands still and that applies to watch designs as well....

and it came to this..... a reasonably good-looking clipper chronograph......

now although hermes are masters are leather-craft, they seem to be unsure of how to advance their art in horology..... cos i find the lugs too long and awkward.......

let me tell u something: this watch looks too much like a hamilton watch..... eeekkss...

Most people have heard of KERS: the regenerative braking system used by some f1 teams in 2009...

Now bcos of the international crisis facing toyota cars, people are now asking questions about regenerative braking system in their toyota hybrid cars...

Too bad the system doesn't give a performance boost like KERS can ...no worries but I am looking forward when manufactures do come out with a reasonably priced performance hybrid... How about a hybrid evo XI with KERS?? That will be so interesting...

If not for the free ticket on a trade day, I won't go even if it's free... Moreover the flying display ended at 1230 instead of 1300....

who's paying...

when people lose their lives in road accidents, we need to ask what happened: driver at fault? pedestrian at fault? road design at fault and what else?

if people choose to jay-walk, they have to face the risks and consequences..... e.g. cross a minefield carelessly and one could be blown to bits......

so what can be done to improve the situation at Upper Thomson Road....? add traffic lights? add overhead bridge? add this add that? all of these cost money and some can lead to traffic congestion......

hear this: someone even suggested to have escalators for one particular overheard bridge near her place of worship......... so is she going to pay for it?

let's be realistic.... we cannot have an overhead bridge or traffic lights every 100 or 200 m....... people who wish to cross to the other hand have a choice: use the existing bridge or traffic lights.... if they find the distance an obstacle, they can cross the road carefully....

i wonder what can LTA do....... install a speed camera to force cars to slow down..??? i dun think so.....

This reminded me of the time when CSS & I were having dinner.....
