hamilton - khaki king sub

just in......pretty cool and i think these are nice, especially the black dial version......41 mm diameter....now maybe 43 mm could be even more popular haha.....

now a serious diver's watch shd be rated to at least 200 m wr.......so hamilton could have done it better........100 m is barely sufficient.......

noticed the crown guards extends almost all the way to the crown itself ........it may just make unwinding the crown a little difficult.....

the day and date features are nice to have......while the hands are typical of what hamilton khaki watches use........

some ppl may not like the fact that 3 and 9 are much larger than the rest of the numerals on the dial but i think it's ok........bezel fonts also match what was used on the dial ....

overall i think it's a good entry level sports watch.......

quoted from timezone "MSRP is $495 for the rubberized leather strap and $545 for the bracelet model"

dare to be different....

let the pictures do the talking..............

such a daring effort ...i wouldnt say it's beautiful but it sure catches your attention......at 42.5 mm in diameter, this is the biggest rolex watch thus far.....

will you buy one..?....i think probably not haha.....moreover these 2 models, in full 18 kt YG and WG/Pt......no way they are affordable....

very likely the TT models will appear at basel 08..........and will there be a SS model...??........only rolex knows...

a little bit more of the pam104

first picture is self-explanatory.....

the solid caseback looks like this....

i like the crown protector very much.......

fat fat hands.....

between the 116710 (ss) and 116713 (tt or half-gold), i kinda prefer the tt...........why though? well, i think that 18 kt yellow gold matches the supercase and ceramic bezel in a better way......the 116718 is a totally different animal, it's one big chunk of all 18 kt yellow gold.......

hee, if i have the cash, of cos i would like to own THAT beast of a gold watch......at the moment, it's way too much for me.....

i find it weird that i never liked the 16713......therefore, the new features that come with the 11671* series are a godsend.......it gives the gmt master 2 a complete "a little less than extreme" makeover........it is now more muscular and with a new lease of life, gives us a glimpse of the new direction that rolex is heading towards......

green is used for the "gmt master 2" and the 24 hr hand..............all the hands and lume surrounds are 18 kt yellow gold

on the 11671* series of gmt master 2 watches.....the hour hand is also wider........this is in addition to the wider minute hand first introduced in the ym and then the submariner lv....

with a macro lens, one can catch the laser-etched coronet clearly......

my favourite rolex tt sports watch...........the 116713...!

oyster bracelet

so many questions about what is SEL.....and what are hollow links...??

ok....a few pictures to settle it once and for all.....

and from the back...

square square.....

ha dun like the tonneau shape of most RM watches???..........well help in here and now there's a choice, the rm016...

it uses the same movement as the rm010........a skeletonised version of the one used in the rm005

well looks especially good in rose gold.....

luxury sports - richard mille rm015

i am a fan of richard mille watches......expensive they are and most of their watches were in fact inspired by automative themes and materials........carbon fibre, titanium, ceramic ball-bearings atc

in particular the felipe massa watches like the rm005-fm, rm009-fm and now the awesome rm011 are really dreams come true for the f1 fanatics......

recently they launched a new line of maritime watches......one of which is the rm015 shown below.....

very different hands were put into the watch.......i must say i really like the shape of these hands........and my gosh, look at the crown! isnt that handsome...???.........

u have to spend some time to slowly go thru every aspect of the design.........notice the brush surfaces and also the polished areas......and it looks great in rose gold......

the movement baseplate is made of carbon nanofibre....very rigid and also quite resistant to the effects of wide temperature changes.....am not too sure if other manufactures have used this material in their tourbillons.......

supplementing the hour display is a 2nd time zone shown on a sapphire crystal disc just beside the 10 o'clock position.....if your budget allows this, u seriously have to consider getting this one.....

rolex explorer

here's one glow-in-the-dark pic

many ppl have asked, "why is there no luminova on the 3-6-9 numerals ?".....well i really dunno why? and again rolex is not giving us any reason.........

on the other hand, if u prefer something that is much brighter over a period of time, then buy a ball....ball watches glow much brighter for much longer

more straps....

blue shark.......beige ostrich and orange ostrich.....

a pic a day.....

here is the rolex oyster date 6694......and my K serial 16570 explorer 2......

and also my 114270 explorer........plus hamilton khaki pearl harbour SE quartz.......kinda wasted, cos if they had launched an auto model for the movie, it would have been perfect....a more appropriate homage to the infamous day on 7 dec 1941.....

more on pam 104.....

what makes panerai watches so interesting is the STRAP.......changing the strap is pretty straightforward and it transforms the look .....

here's a beige ostrich strap........tried as i could, i was not able to get a white strap....this one is the next best thing.........being light in tone, it does show up dirt easily.......

the reverse cyclops makes reading the date easy......am not too sure about the magnification though but it's good enough.....if u cant see the date, there's something wrong with your eyes....

uniquely different is the crown protector......to maintain a 300 m wr without using a screw-down crown, panerai developed this ingenious device......simple yet effective....

the blue strap is made of sharksin .......looked good in pictures but somehow i prefer the ostrich straps.....it's not too bad if u like the distinctive grain...

this one is carbon fibre look.............pretty cool huh..?.........it's not genuine carbon fibre of cos......

laser etched coronet......

one of the newer anti-counterfeiting feature is the small coronet in the crystal at the 6 o'clock position.......

hard to see with the naked eye....but at the right angle and a good dose of lighting.....surely one can catch the laser etched feature...

pls click on the pics .....u can then see it clearly....

explorer 2 - moreeeeeeeee

more pics and less text........better right...???

explorer 2 - continued....

so how does the watch looks in the dark...??

not too bad i guess.......but this level of brightness lasts only for awhile and it dims pretty quickly.....so long u dun expect the watch to shine like a torchlight, i think it's ok.......

i think the white dial is magnificent..............the red 24 hr hand looks brilliant against the pure pure white background.......the hands and hour markers are all white gold but painted in black for a better contrast.....

with all the upgrades to the gmt master 2, our attention has turned to the explorer 2........will it be the next model to get the supercase and maxi-dial ...???.....let's keep our fingers crossed......
